The charming Hotel Kong Arthur in Copenhagen’s Nansensgade Quarter has undergone a complete renovation with 64 new rooms and a new breakfast restaurant featuring our popular Herringbone floors.
The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere with elegant interiors, housed in a beautiful, late 19th Century building near Copenhagen’s historic lakes. The interior design compliments the period building with its many original features, in a style inspired by grand, turn of the century Danish apartments. Junckers’ Herringbone floors in solid oak complete the look, adding a warm, elegant backdrop.
Breakfast restaurant The large rooms in the hotel’s light and airy new breakfast restaurant are flooded with natural light and have an industrial feel with fixtures, fittings and furniture in natural colours and materials. Our Oak Herringbone flooring grounds the space perfectly with its warm tones and natural grain pattern of the timber.
New hotel rooms The 64 new hotel rooms were inspired by the classical style of a city centre Copenhagen apartment, all fitted with our new Twin Herringbone flooring in solid oak. Pre-finished with a hard wearing ultra matt lacquer, Twin Herringbone is ready to walk on as soon as it is installed without the need for sanding or on-site finishing treatments. The quick and straight forward installation process saved the Hotel both time and money – installing a Twin Herringbone floor costs less than half of the installation cost of an unfinished parquet floor.

dividing the space into different zones, which each have a different feel and
purpose – flexible working stations both for teams and individuals; dedicated
project and meeting rooms and a more relaxed and informal section which serves
as a material library and social area, Metropolis created a workspace which in
itself is a ‘tool’ in their creative process.
solid Black Oak Herringbone flooring has been installed throughout, an elegant
floor for an elegantly designed space. We especially adore the confident
pairing of our dark floors with dark walls, continued in the furniture, wall
panelling, accessories and more.
A white solid oak floor with wide board, long-length planks adds a bright, space-enhancing backdrop to an interior, making the most of natural light by reflecting it back into the room. At 185mm wide, Oak Boulevard is our widest floor board, made in solid oak, through and through.
Rustic White is an oil which allows the naturally occurring grain pattern of the timber to show through, leaving a natural look. The oil has a completely matt finish and it can be over-coated with Junckers’ Ultramatt lacquer for an even more durable surface, to protect against scuffs and spills.
700m2 Rustic White Oak Boulevard was recently installed in three of the luxurious apartments at The Silo, a prestigious development in Nordhavn, Copenhagen. We think the images speak for themselves, don’t you?
Specialist hotel, hospitality and residential architects Dexter Moren Associates designed London’s newest hipster hotel, The Curtain. Located in the fashionable Shoreditch area, The Curtain’s luxury interiors include 4500m2 Junckers solid oak flooring in a dark grey stain and textured surface with a rich patina.
Fitted in all bedrooms and suites, the elegant, dark grey wooden floor is perfectly suited to the hotel’s luxe warehouse living style. Junckers solid wood floors have natural acoustic qualities and ensure a comfortable indoor climate for guests. The floor arrives pre-finished and sealed in Ultramatt lacquer, which has the appearance of an oiled finish, minimising on-site work and ensuring a perfect finish. A Junckers pre-finished solid hardwood floor is hard-wearing and long lasting, the perfect choice for a busy hotel.
Hexparket by CarpEnter CPH & Hartmann is a new parquet floor from Junckers. Hexagonal staves made in solid oak are laid to form an intricate design mimicking nature’s own geometric pattern based on equilateral triangles. Made in 100% solid hardwood oak, the staves measure 370mm on all sides by 20.5mm thick. The staves have a groove on each side and an accompanying loose tongue is used in the installation process.
Hexparket is delivered with an untreated surface to be finished on site with either a lacquer or oil. Made in Junckers’ most popular timber grade, Harmony, the floor has a natural appearance, few knots and some colour and structural graining variation between the individual tiles. Oak is a hardwood species characterised by being hardwearing and is therefore very suitable for flooring. The wood has a warm and golden glow, an interesting grain structure and over time the natural ageing gives the wood an authentic appearance. The graphic look and clean, sharp lines of the new Hexparket is perfectly counter balanced by natural beauty and texture of the timber, resulting in a lively, elegant floor.
A prestigious residential development in the fashionable Clapham Old Town area of London features over 700m2 of Junckers’ Black Oak flooring. Designed by Assael Architecture, the development combines converted 19th century warehouse buildings with contemporary architecture.
The high quality, modern interiors combine a palette of rich, natural materials where Junckers’ solid hardwood floors add warmth and texture to the inviting spaces with the matt, oiled surface the perfect backdrop to the stylish decorating schemes.
